Burn. Coverdale grew up in the North-East, and his debt to Paul Rodgers
is clear on this emotive performance of a song he began writing in his
days before joining Purple. Remastered for this set from the original
album.

b-side. It had been six years since the band last recorded a studio
instrumental, and Blackmore was given plenty of room to stretch out
on this obscure b-side. Remastered for this set from the original tapes.

Ontario Speedway, California. One of Mk 3's most imaginative tracks,
taken from one of their most infamous concerts, the music overshadowed
by the trashing of a TV camera on-stage. From 'California Jamming',
EMI 1996.

San Diego Sports Arena. This blues rock track was an album stand-out
and even more powerful on-stage, though I've yet to hear it with a guitar
opening quite so blisteringly awesome as the one captured here on Mk
3's first American tour. Previously unissued officially, it appeared
on the Perks & Tit bootleg.

Kilburn Gaumont. During their UK tour, the band allowed the BBC to broadcast
a show in their In Concert slot, issued in 1982 as Live In London but
yet to make CD in Europe. The extra-long set-closer has never been issued
before anywhere.
