His somewhat angelic appearance belies the explosive energy that is set free when he takes up a pair of sticks. He began in music at age 12 when he became interested in the violin. Less than half a year later, he made the switch to percussions, improved steadily through diligent practice, and now supplies DEEP PURPLE with the drive that is an indispensable part of the group's sound.
