"Born November 3, 1945, in Norwood Green, Southall, brown-eyed, black-haired Nicky began playing the guitar around age 13. He ran through nearly a dozen music teachers, before he realized that self-expression was what he was seeking, and no one could teach him that. He switched from guitar to bass when he found himself in a group that was in sore need of a bass player.
